About Us

Our mission is to provide access to quality education for the deaf community in Cameroon.

About FoBSD

Friends of Buea School for the Deaf (FoBSD) is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization established to support the operations and development of the Buea School for the Deaf in Cameroon. Founded in 2003 by Aloysius N'jok Bibum and Margaret Lloyd Bibum, the school now serves over 200 deaf and hard-of-hearing students each year.

FoBSD exists to ensure that every child, regardless of their ability to hear, has access to a quality education, a safe learning environment, and the resources needed to thrive. We are committed to uplifting generations of deaf students by supporting classroom learning, vocational training, infrastructure development, and teacher training.

Through strategic partnerships and generous donors, we help open doors to communication, independence, and lifelong opportunity.
