Teresa Kona

Vice President

Teresa Kona is a third-year board member of Friends of Buea School for the Deaf (FoBSD) and serves on its Public Relations Committee. She currently works with the U.S. Peace Corps on the Placement Legal Team in Washington, DC.

Teresa earned her Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies with a focus on Public Relations and Marketing from Morgan State University and is pursuing a Master’s in Political Management at The George Washington University. She has supported FoBSD’s fundraising efforts since childhood, served as a fellow for Maryland Congressman Anthony Brown, and built strong connections with associations and nonprofits across the Greater Washington region.

Inspired by witnessing the school’s growth since its inception, Teresa brings a deep passion for service and advocacy. Her goal is to amplify the voices of students and expand the school’s visibility through strategic communications and partnerships.
